RECENT EVENTS

We wish to thank Chuck Trudel for  his demonstration last month on  carving faces - such as Santa face ornaments.

UPCOMING EVENTS

UPCOMING MONTHLY PROGRAMS FOR 2008:
 
May 6, 2008 - Chuck Trudel - carving faces - -such as Santa face ornaments

 
June 3, 2008 - Rich Reimers will be giving a demonstration on tool sharpening.
 
July 1, 2008- Our picnic will be held on July 1st this year. Chuck Turner, Lyle & Donnis Morgan will again be handling the set-up and the barbecue grill. The club will be providing the hot dogs, rolls and beverage. You are asked to bring a dish to pass, your own plates, cups, utensils and napkins. You may also want to bring chairs and picnic table. We extend an invitation to other woodcarvers’ clubs to join us.

UPCOMING SHOWS:

 

Saturday, June 7th 11:00 A.M. To 6:00 P.M. THE BRASS RING THING VIII, A RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL.  Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, 180 Thompson Street, North Tonawanda, New York. Swashbuckling sword duels, jousting, medieval songsters, skillful jugglers, artisan demonstrations, face painting, crafts and dance will be featured .

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 2 - 12.  An unlimited game bracelet may be purchased for an  additional $5. This festival is presented by the Herschell Carrousel Museum and The Society for Creative Anachronism.

CLASSES:

Caricature Carver Floyd Rhadighan will be here for a 3 day seminar during Aug. 15, 16, and 17.  The price has been yet to be determined, but should be in the $175 range.  It will be held at the Benington Bowling alleys, sans the bluegrass.  Lunches will be provided.   Should be fun, as Floyd is always a great time.  Should be pretty much a start to finish experience.  Ken Kohl is taking $50 deposits to hold spots.  Please send to 13067 Main St. Alden, NY 14004.

Pete LeClair will be here for a 3 day seminar during Sept. 19, 20, and 21.  The price has been yet to be determined, but should be in the $175 range.  It will be held at the Benington Bowling alleys, sans the bluegrass.  Lunches will be provided.  Pete does not work from roughouts, but cutouts.  Should be fun, as Pete is always a great time.  Should be pretty much a start to finish experience.  Ken is taking $50 deposits to hold spots.  Please send to:  13067 Main St., Alden, NY 14004
